National Science Week is a collection of events large and small staged by individuals and organisations that when, taken together, make up one of Australia’s largest festivals.
This year at McKinnon Secondary College the students will be celebrating National Science Week in a number of ways. They will participate in class competitions which involve experiments and problem solving. All Year 8 students will be involved in the Science Survivor challenges. Year 7 students will be attending a workshop on Australian Animals and all Year 9 students will complete the Plank Engineering challenge.
Students are also invited to involve themselves in a number of competitions that will be judged at lunchtimes during the week such as the science-themed baked goods.
These are just a selection of the events at our school.
